UPDATE JULY 2012 – after completing the month’s detox plan I have repeated some of the tests I performed at the start. The Candida test now shows negative and I have changed from a protein metabolic type to a mixed metabolic type. I am therefore in the process of reformulating and tweaking this plan and will detail the changes below once I have completed this.
ABOUT MY DETOX DIARY
I am embarking on a new diet and lifestyle starting with a detox programme. This is devised by myself specifically for myself and is a combination of therapies and methods that I found most beneficial over the years in my fight against Candida. I intend to continue on this path in the long term, but have given myself a more intensive and strict month to get into it properly. I decided to make this public for 3 reasons:
1. To share my experiences and efforts with others which may hopefully help them and support them on their detox/new lifestyle path
2. To raise some funds for starting up my free Holistic Natural Health Clinic (more info under Natural Health Care)
3. To keep me on track!
DETOX
The detox programme I am following is mainly based around diet, but also uses some products that we sell at Shop Holistic (naturally – we only sell the best!).
I will be taking Diatomaceous Earth, Zeolite and Home Enema with water and coffee.
DIET
The diet is one that I have devised for my metabolic type and blood type. It is gluten-free, lactose-free, sugar-free, and everything made from wholefoods, organic as much as possible.
SO I CAN EAT: All meat, poultry, fish, seafood, etc; eggs; double cream and butter; all healthful oils (coconut, olive, hemp, etc); all nuts (raw), nut butters & seeds including quinoa; all vegetables except potatoes; all whole fruits; mushrooms; whey protein concentrate; seaweed & algae (such as kelp, spirulina & chlorella)
Limited amounts (once or twice a week in small portions): Organic brown rice, butter beans, peas, sweetcorn
DRINKS: herbal teas; water; unsweetened rice milk; organic ground coffee (max 2 per day); unsweetened dandelion & burdock cordial
Basically it is a sort-of hunter-gatherer diet, if it is not something I could forage for I won’t eat it (with the exception of whey protein concentrate)
99% of foods and meals will be homemade from whole, fresh ingredients
SUPPLEMENTATION
I will be taking 5,000iu Vitamin D3, 2000mg Vitamin C (in 2 doses), Supernutrition Plus, Kelp, Selenium and Maxi Q10 everyday. Also I will occasionally take 2 sprays of Silver100, Chromium, High Potency Custom Probiotic Powder and have 1Kg Magnesium Chloride flakes in each bath (2-3 times a week). Once a week I will have Epsom salts in my bath. (All of these products except kelp are available from www.shopholistic.co.uk)
EXERCISE
Having a very busy lifestyle, I have integrated a flexible exercise plan that simply aims to have at least 30 minutes of exercise most days. This can include Yoga, walking, Wii Fit/Dance, cyclng, gardening, housework, even love-making! Basically anything that gets the heart beating and burns a few calories!
